Oh, Pierre, come fluff my pillow.

I am in bed, computer on my lap (atop feather pillow of course), tea on the night stand, anxiously awaiting someone to feed me bon bons. Last night my darling personal slave, er husband, brought home dinner from my favorite restaurant. Life after transfer? Priceless.

The transfer went well. Both blasts survived the deep thaw, one an AA, one a BB. The pictures revealed that AA (clearly a girl) is a precocious little minx. She was busting out of her cell walls Mae West-like. BB is more reserved, a color-inside-the-lines type of blast. My hope now is that they decide to stick around for 3/4 of a year. I've done all I can do.

Now the hard part. The waiting. I didn't mind waiting from Friday, when we found out my lining cooperated, to the transfer yesterday. How joyful to know that we were going to be able to transfer. I didn't even worry about the blasts surviving; I knew one of them would. This waiting is the hard part. How do you temper thinking positively with protecting against disappointment? Attitude is so important in this process, but I'm not willing to lose myself again in the bitter, wrenching sadness of loss. (She writes with utter confidence that she somehow has that much control over her emotions!)

Enough about that. My question is: When is a reasonable time to test after a 5 day transfer? My beta is March 10, a whole 17 months away.

I hope they stick too!

And the waiting is so hard. I wish you luck in enduring the long days ahead!

Congrats on the transfer! I have my fingers crossed for you. You might find Schatzi's post 'The Real Story' on 2/14/08, very interesting. She talks about POAS on 5dpt. Not that I am encouraging bad behavior...wink!!!

Yippee! I'm so glad that transfer went well, that you're being treated in the manner a woman like you so richly deserves, and that all is well.

May distraction arrive and make this the swiftest two weeks ever!

Ohhhh..good luck. I hope both of those suckers stick and move into your house in about 9 months!!! When to test? I have no idea but I have the habit of POAS at a drop of a hat and hey...at least it helps to pass the time!!

Congrats!!! I am hoping those two little ones to snuggle in nice and well! How exciting and yet the wait is so so endless! I never POAS anymore because of the time I got a BFN and then ended up with a positive beta. But I think you can start testing around 9 days or so after transfer. But someone who POAS a lot would know better than me. GOOD LUCK!!!

All the best for your wait and a lovely result the other end!

Congrats on your transfer. Lucky you to have two guests, i hope they both stick around.

I really don't like the evil pee sticks but March 10 seems an unreasonably long wait, so my assvice would be to try and make it to 7-8dpt.

You crack me up. Congrats on a great thaw and transfer and cheers on a lovely bed rest!

It's funny that you mention balancing positive thinking (hope, high expectations) with disappointment (negativity, realism) today. This was an issue we discussed in our therapy session today. We talked about trying to find a happy medium and remaining cautiously optimistic. Believing it can work without setting yourself up for a huge fall. I have yet to master this, so let me know if you find a way.

great news! so glad it went well and hope they cozy in for a nice long stay. hope you find some good distractions in the 2ww. oh pierre, do peel me a grape!

sorry I can't help with the poas issue, I never did a 5dt, but I wouldn't test too early. maybe 10 days?

How exciting! I'm happy to hear it went well, and wish you a smooth and relatively anxiety-free 2WW. I don't POAS anymore ever, b/c it became such a waste of money... I figure, I threw all that cash at the clinic, the least I could do is get every last penny's worth by making them test me too. Good luck!

As Tom Petty would say, "the waa-waaiting is the hardest part"! I think 8 days after 5dt is reasonable to POAS. That's when I did my first POAS and beta, which was positive!

I'm thinking of you. Keep patting your belly and talking to them. I have no idea when to poas, i'm an anti poas-er, i think they are made by the devil, absolutely evil. But they also have never given me a positive.

I hope the waiting isn't driving you too mad. It is such an awful time, huh? It could drive a person insane! Thinking of you with everything crossed ( well not everything, I have EC on Monday and I recall feeling very uncrossed!) you know what I mean :-)

I'm pulling for you.

I had my transfer on 2/11 and tested on 2/15, so 4dp5dt. That was ridiculously early, I'm told and I got a negative. But the next day I started testing positive.

Good luck!
